Hi Kevin,

Vaporizing is the healthiest form of consuming medical marijuana - due to it not burning the plant, and just extracting the THC content via heat.

What type of vaporizer do you have? It could possibly be the quality of the tool that you are using that may be causing the health issues...

For the marijuana itself, if the plant wasn't properly flushed of whatever nutrients that were used to grow the plant - you would experience the taste of these chemicals (natural or not), when you consume the vaporized contents. If you are purchasing this from a medical facility - ask them if their plants are grown organically or if they even know what type of nutrients or additional chemicals may be used (pesticides).

I have used a vaporizer for 3+ years and have stuck to one brand, which I personally feel provides the best extraction and health options. It is a Vapolution Vaporizer, has been a great device for myself with glass on glass construction and built in USA.

Please let us know what your medical marijuana supplier advises as far as the quality of the product they distribute - this could be the cause of the health issues you are facing, while trying to extract the THC contents.

I am seriously looking for answers about the vaporizer method of smoking Marijuana. I started smoking med marijuana at the beginning of the year and was looking for a healthier way to inhale it, so I tried the vaporizer method for about two weeks. I have had nothing but problems with a sore throat loosing my voice and wheezing in my lungs every since. I am wondering if the marijuana itself doesn't cause the throat and lung irritation and wheezing, if the growing chemicals that are sprayed on the plants are being vaporized and causing this problem. I'm not sure what is sprayed onto the plants to promote a better yield but I'm looking for some answers.

@Speedy. Yes Vaporized Marijuana has a different smell them the actually burning of the cannabis. And as for the smell on your breath. My girlfriend doesn't like me to smoke Marijuana, and when I use a vaporizer she never can smell or taste it.

I'm frustrated. We purchased a Volcano vaporizer & we were thrilled with it at first, mostly because of the clean fresh taste & a cleaner feeling high obtained with much less herb, but we've noticed that it still causes quite a burning throat irritation & plenty of coughing. I've been an avid toker for ~30 years. (usually pipes or one hits) The only time I've ever had serious lung problems was while I smoked occasional cigs too, more than 8 yrs ago. But now as a result of only a few months of vaporizing, I've developed severe asthma & can no longer use our fancy Volcano! :(
I couldn't believe it, but when I go back to my usual toke, the asthma clears up. Then I return to the vape & sure enough i begin to wheeze again, especially late at night??? I just can't understand it! I've heard about all of the health benefits, but it certainly isn't the case with me. Some of our friends still prefer standard toking as well. They claim the vape is harsher on their throats too. If anyone has any info. about why this might be, please share the wisdom. I was sooo hoping to be done with toking & the pervasive scent that accompanies it, but for now I'm back to carrying my old, stanky hitter box around... Ohhh pooopy dooo pooopy dooo... :{ SUX!!!!

Hi Jefferey,

From my experience, I found vaporizing to produce a cleaner taste - where you can actually taste the marijuana as it smells... Which can be very nice for certain strains. My personal favorite is OG Kush.

I disagree and don't believe that smoking marijuana in a pipe or in hemp papers has harmful effects on the lungs, I've been smoking for ten years in the last three I quit using blunts to roll with because it was affecting my throat and lungs and if you smoke the resin from a pipe it self it will not stay on the lungs you will cough this back up I've notice this in my experience, so next time you roll one up let it be in a hemp paper tastes better anyway.
