Hi, chanced on this web site, interesting article. I myself am not a pot smoker neither do I consider myself a troll in any way but please be the judge yourselves.

Something that I feel is missing from this article is the drug delivery method. The reason I bring this up, is that it keeps referring to THC compound is this injected intravenously into the rat, fed, or indeed smoked (via some vaporiser type system) as this radically would alter the results. We know that when we inhale smoke of any type, it is rich in carbon monoxide which has been extensively shown to reduce brain cell growth through starving the brain of oxygen. would this not outway any brain cell growth benefit of the drug.

Also is there a link to the source of this articles information.

Where I stand on the legalising of the drug, i don’t personally see it as any worse/ better than smoking. But i’m Pro-Choice each to their own, i have personally never smoked nicotine or other, Based on a family loss early on in my life attributed to cigarettes (my personal choice.)

I just hope that when there are studies like the one i am writing about that they are thorough and don’t jump to conclusions that in the real world don’t apply.

The natural form THC did not have the same effect in rats is right, but the proven fact still stands that for one, marijuana reduces anxiety and depression for two, neither this specific synthetic nor natural THC have been shown to be studied on humans, at least not on this article. The fact of the matter is there are far more positive effects that marijuana has in its natural state of THC, when taken in moderation marijuana has the effect of relaxing without inhibiting peoples everyday activities. Also marijuana is also proven to decrease the amount of cancer cells in cancer patients and also protects against alzheimer’s disease. When people finally get over their fear of marijuana that remains from the repercussions of William Randolph Hurt’s smear campaign in the 30′s.

You forgot to include the rest of that information from the study, that the synthetic form did increase neurogenesis by 40% but the NATURAL THC DID NOTHING NO MATTER HOW HIGH THE DOSAGE WAS!!

I really hate today’s government and how they pass laws completely unlike the founding fathers of our country would have. For example, the government passed the marijuana prohibition act in 1937 without any scientific proof of it’s mental or physical dangers.

Thomas Jefferson stated “Some of my finest hours have been spent sitting on my back porch smoking my hemp pipe.” Today’s government officials are labeling marijuana as “poison”. Open your eyes you fucking idiots the federal government spends $1500 PER SECOND on the prohibition of marijuana. (arrests, etc.)

They could be making millions of dollars a year off of legalizing and regulating marijuana. Our internal debt could be bettered in a matter of years just from pot. Marijuana makes peace and money, but according to George Bush it’s gonna kill us all.

You know it’s really weird, I can get anxiety from smoking pot, unless I notice it and really CALM THE F**K DOWN. I feel like I’m meditating or something and I notice I’m more sharp during and afterwards. I bet prohibition itself causes a lot of the problems people have from weed.

@Lauren The reason you are so against it is because you havent tried it. Didnt your mother or anyone else teach you “dont knock it till you try it.” Well if they didnt, it would suprise me because your quite ignorant. A rats’ brain functions the same as any other brain, their frontal lobe is simply smaller making them less able to think and remember like we do. The expirement was done on rats because it is illegal for human consumption.. If we were to allow human testing, im sure we’d see similar results.

@jhog If you smoke a huge batch of cron or something your first time, of course your going to freak out. Your mind is not used to the difference. I bet your a binge drinker lol.

This was tested on RATS, not humans. Both very different things with different brain functioning. And if smoking pot actually increased brain functioning, it still doesn’t make it right to smoke it. It’s addicting. I’ve never smoked pot and hopefully never will. People make a lifestyle of selling marijuana and that is no life to live. Whoever wrote this is a complete idiot!

I think this article is somewhat exaggerated, marijuana is definitely beneficial to the mind and body but only to a certain extent. It is a natural pain killer alternative to highly addictive toxic opiates such as perks, viks, oxys etc.. Studys have proven that marijuana use can help relieve depression and anxiety as well as cause depression and anxiety in others who are not used to using marijuana. THC has been shown to act as an antioxidant fighting off free radical cancer cells. Although smoking the bud is certainly not a healthy way of taking it in but it will not kill you, vaporization would be the ideal way of taking in THC, as there would only be vapor like a shower instead of carcinogenic smoke like a fire or cigarette. There are numerous benefits that come with this wonderful plant, theres no reason marijuana shouldnt be legalized, why do we have harmful substances legal……..government conspiracy!!! ever smoke and realize the bull shit and all of a sudden you put the pieces together and have the truth?
