Marijuana Smoking Etiquette

1. The person who rolls the joint (no matter whose weed it is) gets to spark up the joint and get first hit.

2. If someone rolls a nice joint, it’s good to give the person a complement on his rolling skills.

3. If someone starts bogarting the bowl and starts using the excuse that it’s okay for him to Bogart it since it’s his weed; this is definitely not cool. The punishment depends on the quality of the weed and how much he put in. (if it was real crappy and he was real cheap with it, then you bug on the person and rag on him).

4. If someone is incapable to light the bowl (due to being too stoned or the person is just a not all there) then they must relinquish control of the lighter to someone more able to get it lit. This does NOT mean the person who lights gets free hits… this privilege tends to get abused (“hey lemme light it for you.”)

5. If someone is so much of a newbie stoner that they blow INTO the pipe/joint and blow all the shit on the floor, this person must be ragged on and the person can’t smoke on the next round (unless it was his stuff)

6. If you smoke with someone in your house, you should let him or her eat some munchies you may have lying around… don’t be cheap with your food, if you have any.

7. If someone who’s smoked asks for a sip of your soda, you must give him some, (cotton mouth is not fun).

8. Converse of #7: if you ask for a sip, don’t take a large gulp.

9. If smoking from a joint, never put the whole thing in your mouth and get it all sopping wet. It is disgusting and it messes up the joint.

10. If you’re smoking from a bong and there is not enough in the bowl for a whole other hit, you should save the smoke in the chamber for the next person. (Don’t let go of the rushhold or ‘carb’ and take it all yourself)

11. Never bogart

12. Never bitch about someone else’s weed being no good. If you don’t like it don’t smoke it!

13. If a friend gets you high sometime in the future you need to get that friend high

14. Thou shall not turn down a smoke. Ever!

15. Phrased in the form of a narrative: My buddy and I are sitting around smoking the weed that I just scored. After flaming-up, and taking a few moderate puffs, I pass it on. The sounds that follow can only be described as vacuum-like. After a couple of huge, lung-busting tokes, the guy passes back the remnants of something that could have, at some point, been a joint. If it’s not completely “canoed”, then it’s absolutely soaked. I not so subtly drop that old Cheech & Chong line “Hey man, can I wring it out for you?” He just looks at me.

16. I have noticed the following: After smoking-up, the odd “crass-monkey” some people will actually eat the stained, disgusting roach. This must be because they want that “extra bit” of oil, resin, or whatever is left on the paper. This situation can be compared to the patron of a good restaurant picking up his “as good as empty” plate and licking off the remaining morsels of food. Sure he got that little pool of gravy, but was it really worth it?

17. If you buy weed from a friend or a friend of a friend, it is polite to roll a joint, (a small one, if you wish) and smoke with the person who sells you the stuff.

18. It is very impolite to hand someone an empty bowl, without notifying that person of its possible cashed-ness. A proper warning would be ‘Here ya go. I think it might be cashed.

19. The person who fills the bowl is given the opportunity to take the first hit. It doesn’t matter whose weed it is.

20. Always remember to thank a person who has gotten you high. I know it sounds silly, but I know people who never say thanks and it gets a little annoying.

21. The person who brought the bud picks the music.

22. When using a bong, DON’T blow out the ashes, unless that’s what the “homeowner” does.

23. NEVER go to someone’s house EXPECTING him or her to catch you a buzz. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule…

24. If you spill the bong, clean it up! (And don’t forget to put water back in!)

25. When the roach gets too small, if someone has a problem with it, it is common courtesy here to put the roach in a bowl and finish it that way. That way the people who don’t mind burning their fingers don’t get it all.

26. Thou shall not roll pinners.

Cannabutter Recipe

cannabutterPreparing of CannaButter is a recipe which will win with everyone, a great solution to those who cannot medicate with cannabis through smoking. This is something that can be used with various food items to still provide the needed relief to a medical marijuana patient. Okay, factually speaking it is very simple to create! Because if you want to use cannabis which need not be wasted.
From the proper use of this recipe one can get maximum cannabutter with quality as well. Therefore, let’s start by catalog of the materials you need to make cannabutter.

Important: When using Fats and water together, have a inclination of your ‘work-space’ being very hot-tempered and cautious to not burn your arms, appropriate clothing will be very essential. So please use oven gloves and long sleeves to stay away from accidental burning.

Materials to Be Used:

-    A sturdy grinder to grind the Cannabis material.
-    Stove to heat up the ingredients.
-    A medium stainless steel sauce pan with lid. Size of pan is to be same as the stove heating element for the even allocation of heat.
-    A measuring cup.
-    A whisk or a large fork to mix the material with the water/butter solution in the pot.
-    Cheese cloth to strain the material before cooling.
-    A bowl large enough to hold and cool the CannaButter material.
-    A space in your refrigerator to chill and take apart the water from butter.
-    Heavy duty saran wrap to handle and pack together the CannaButter into a smaller, easier to handle shape.
-    A freezable container to store the material.
-    A space in your freezer to store the finished product.

Please be assured to have above mentioned items and marshal these items in an easy and accessible manner for immediate use during and at the closing stages of cannabutter making process.

Note: To make a strong CannaButter you will require adjusting the quantity of Cannabis you bring into play in accordance with the potency of butter you would like. It is not compulsory to make weak CannaButter or reduce the Cannabis Butter percentage as you may feel “no effect” after you’ve tried the butter.
This recipe will make about 350g of medium strength CannaButter. Mind it that while combining the ingredients there will be a miniature loss.

Ingredients
-    1lbs of unsalted butter.
-    3cups of water.
-    1 ounce of premium, middle or high grade Cannabis (trimmings are okay, but not as strong). The higher you go in quality of product, the better butter it will be.

Well, now let’s cook!

To Prepare:

Start by grinding the cannabis stuff very fine. Grind the cannabis material very finely by making it coarse and separated. You have to use a grinder after very keen cleaning if you don’t have a dedicated grinder for cannabis grinding. It’s very important to have good cannabis for use.

Cooking:

Place three cups of water to a covered boil. Put your butter in the boiling water and let it melt in the water. Heat is to be reduced to very low setting, once the butter is melted so when covered, the cannabutter will simmer gently. Now cannabis material is to be added to water and butter solution. After adding cannabis trim, keep mixing it along with fluffing it up into pan constantly so that the whole material does not stick to the bottom and there are no clusters.  After making sure that there are no clusters position the lid on the pan and keep heat on minimum temperature.
Now it’s time to cook and let cannabutter simmer gently for 1-2 hours. This much time is very important and it should not cook for more than 3 hours.

After 1-2 hours have passed, THC will be combined with the melted butter.
During these 1-2 hours you are suppose to check cannabutter with intervals. To ensure proper heat temperature remains and not to boil the ingredients, this can trim down the butter excessively.

Extraction:
After above mentioned period of time, now you have to turn the heat off. Then let the solution sit for 2-4 minutes and remove it from the heat.
As mentioned earlier as well, proper cloths usage is very important at this stage.

Now it’s ready to get extracted. Place the cheese cloth over an open bowl and ensure that when the liquid is poured through the cheese cloth will not go with it. The idea here is to strain the solution using the cheese cloth so that you will not have bits of cannabis in the solution. Most of the THC is extracted by now. Once the solution has been strained through the cheese cloth and the material collected, you will have a solution in a bowl and cheese cloth full of soggy Cannabis material.

Extract as much as you can of the solution from the cheese cloth.
Solution must be removed as much as possible in the bowl.

Cooling:
Now put the bowl of cannabutter solution in your refrigerator, at that place which was keep for cannabutter and keep it there for a few hours. As this cooling process is taking place keep a check on the progress and let it be there for the separation of fats from the water to be maximum.
Now you will be removing your butter from the bowl. As butter is solid now so it is recommended that you use heavy duty plastic wrap for it. Collect as much solid cannabutter material from the bowl and drain the excess water (it should look gritty and dirty). Remove surplus of water by patting dry the cannabutter. Now form cannabutter with the help of plastic wrap in a better size to get compressed. Store it in an airtight and freezable container.

The point of getting butter to freeze here is that it never loses its potency, so it can be used or kept for longer time. So it’s clear that melting will take place quickly once it’s warmed. Now it’s ready for you to enjoy!
Use of canna butter can be in things like to bake muffins, cookie and brownies. Keep in mind that when you want to have a lick of canna butter, don’t just cook it, bake it a bit and it’s as good as it was at the time of cooking.

Homemade Grow Room Odor Control

A common way that grow rooms get exposed is from the strong lingering odor left by your marijuana garden. Though nothing beats a professional system, here’s a great low-cost way to create a effective homemade grow room odor control carbon filtration system  that will keep your garden discreet from prying noses!

Resources Needed:

HEPA Filter Cartridge
Silicon Caulking
Electric Drill
1/8″ Drill Bit
4″ Hole-Saw Bit
4″ Dryer Hose
4″ Dryer Hose Flange
5-Gallon Bucket With Airtight Lid
25lbs. Of Activated Carbon
Blower Fan

1. Start with using your 5-gallon bucket as a template on top of the HEPA filter, trace and cut a circle out. Make sure it accurately in the bottom of your bucket. Remove filter, set aside.

2. Using your drill with the 4″ hole-saw bit, cut a hole in the center of the 5-gallon bucket lid. Test the 4″ dryer hose flange for tight fitment within the hole.

3. With the dryer hose flange in the hole cut through the bucket lid. Take the silicon and apply caulk around the base of the base of the dryer hose flange and bucket lid. Let this set 4-6hrs for an airtight seal.

4. Take your drill and use the 1/8″ drill bit and randomly apply a few dozen holes in the bottom of your 5-gallon bucket (this is where fresh air comes out).

5. Insert your pre-cut HEPA filter into the bottom of your bucket. Add all of the activated carbon. Place lid on bucket and tightly sealed shut. Attach the 4″ dryer hose to the 4″ flange. Now dryer hose is connected to exhaust end of blower.

This will allow the blower fan to move air from your grow room through your 5-gallon filter. The porous carbon will eliminate all the odors from your garden as the air passes through the filters. A excellent way to clean the air of any smell emitting from your flowering garden.
