Grandpa pass the pipe. Unless you are Willie Nelson’s grandchild the idea of smoking a joint with a grandparent is unthinkable, right? Well that might not be as far-fetched as it was in the past.
Recent studies show that marijuana usage among people over the age of fifty is on the rise in the United States. Over a period of six years from 2002-2008, the percentage of admitted drug use was up 1% overall, and soared to 5.1% among people between the ages of 55-59.

Looking for ways to use your cannabutter in everyday cooking? Stay tuned for our recipe’s and guide to creating medical marijuana edibles. A great alternative to smoking cannabis and a wonderful solution for those who cannot smoke.
Basic cannabutter popcorn recipe:
Ingredients
• Freshly popped, hot plain popcorn
• 2 Tbsp or more (to taste) of Cannabutter
• Salt to taste
Instructions
• Melt Cannabutter over low heat in a small saucepan or in the microwave oven checking not to burn it. (Have fun licking the bowl afterwards as you won’t want to waste any!)
• Pop the popcorn using your favorite method either stovetop or microwave
• Place the hot popcorn in a large bowl.
• Drizzle the melted cannabutter over the popcorn, sprinkle with salt and mix well. For a more even distribution of the cannabutter and salt put the popped popcorn in a large paper lunch bag add cannabutter and salt and shake.
This version of popcorn tastes great just with the cannabutter and salt but if you want to mix it up a bit try adding some extra flavor.
Popcorn Salt
• Sprinkle cannabuttered popcorn with 1 teaspoon of fine grained seasoned salt and toss well. Seasoned or popcorn salt is usually found next to the popcorn in the snack aisle and comes in many different flavors from sweet to salty and spicy.
Cinnamon
• Sprinkle cannabuttered popcorn with 2 tablespoons of fine sugar crystals, ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, toss well.
Parmesan Cheese
• Sprinkle popcorn with 1/3rd of a cup of finely grated parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon of paprika and ½ teaspoon of crushed red pepper ( leave out if you don’t want heat) and toss through hot cannabuttered popcorn.
